This is a beginner basket project for sewists who are confident in steps like changing the machine needle, adjusting stitch length and width, and pivoting. Prior rope sewing experience may be helpful, though not necessary.

In addition to the pattern, you will need:

  1. Sewing Machine with Zigzag Stitch

  2. 15 Yards of The Mountain Thread Company’s custom braided 3/16” rope

  3. One Size 100/16 Denim Needle

  4. One Large (1422-Yard) Spool of Aurifil Thread that matches the rope color

  5. 10X10” square of batting

  6. Assorted 2-3” wide fabric scraps (enough to cover the batting square)

  7. Scissors

  8. Glue gun and hot glue sticks (optional)

  9. Scissors

  10. Wonder Clips or Pins
